We enjoyed meeting the crew today and visiting the hanger on Clarke Street. It was so interesting hearing all about the completely free 24-hour air emergency medical service they provide, 365 days a year to the Coastal Bay of Plenty Region in the North Island. East Realty wanted to keep them stimulated, caffeinated and ready for their next rescue by donating a new, fully automatic coffee maker to them.
Since the service was founded in 2000, it has completed over 4000 missions and was previously named the TECT Rescue Helicopter until November 2022. The flight workforce consists of full-time experienced Critical Care Flight Paramedics (CCFP), Crewmen and Pilots. Each member of the team brings a specialist skillset, enhancing the safety and efficiency of rescue missions.
